FAQ

We’ve put together this page to help answer some of the most common questions we receive about our custom engraved dice. We understand that ordering custom dice can be a unique experience, so we hope that this page can help make the process a little easier for you. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for here, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. We’re always happy to help!

  • Who are you?
We are Dice Makers, a local Ohio company that specializes in making custom engraved dice for board games, prototypes, wedding favors and any other idea you can think of. We believe that custom dice should be affordable as well as high quality.
  • How long does it take for my dice to be shipped?
Ready-to-Ship items are typically mailed within 3-5 days of ordering. Our standard lead time for custom orders is 2 weeks, and we will inform you at the time of order if we require additional time to fulfill your request. For large orders, please allow 3-4 weeks for production and shipping. We appreciate your business and will always strive to meet your needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • What is your return policy?
While we are sticklers on quality, occasionally something goes awry. Please contact us within 30 days of shipment if you have quality issues, damage, or have delivery issues. We will do our best to make things right. However, we do not accept returns on custom products for reasons other than quality or damage.
  • What materials are your dice made of?
Our dice are made of hard acrylic, which makes them durable and long-lasting.
  • Do you offer artwork assistance?
Yes, we can help with artwork usually, although during the holidays we may be too busy to do so. We recommend keeping the design simple and without a lot of detail. Details show up at around .02″ between lines – anything smaller will not engrave well. Vector files, such as SVG files, are preferred for artwork. Vector files allow for resizing without losing quality and are essential for good quality engraving. A vector file is a file that contains information about shapes, colors, and sizes, rather than just pixels, like a bitmap image.
  • What if I need a different color, different dice shapes or something else that you don’t seem to offer?
We love challenges. While we cannot guarantee that we can make your idea a reality, we’re fairly clever people. Contact us for custom order assistance.
  • How are your dice made?
We have developed an automated system for engraved dice that saves us time and saves you money. After engraving, the dice are painted with high quality acrylic paint to ensure that your dice last a long time, even with substantial use.
  • What types of dice do you produce?
As much as we love dice of all shapes and sizes, we specialize in creating high-quality custom D6 dice for board games, prototypes, and more.
  • Can I request for a rush order or expedited shipping?
We understand that sometimes you need your custom dice sooner than our standard production time. That’s why we offer rush orders to accommodate your needs. Please note that rush orders will incur additional fees and expedited shipping costs. Keep in mind that during the holidays, rush orders may not be available due to high demand. If you need a rush order, please contact us as soon as possible so we can work out the details and make sure you get your custom dice in time.
  • Do you offer packaging or display for the dice?
No, we do not offer packaging or display. We focus on providing custom dice that meet your unique needs.
  • Do you offer discounts for very large orders?
Yes, we do offer discounts for very large orders. Contact us for a quote.
  • Can you ship to me outside of the U.S.?
    Yes, this is possible.
